BTEA chief hails support to the tourism sector

Manama, Sept.29 (BNA): The decision to exempt tourism facilities and units from paying service fees from October, November and December won praise.

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) Chief Executive Officer Nader Almoayyed hailed the move which, he said, will contribute to mitigating the economic fallout of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

He praised the royal directives issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to harness all national efforts to curb the spread of the pandemic and launch a financial stimulus package to support hardest-hit sectors, which contributed to provide liquidity to tourism facilities and supported economic growth.

He commended the decision of the Cabinet, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, extending the three-month waiver to the tourism facilities and units.
