Ayman Al-Ajmi has a track record in leadership and delivery of excellent results through strategically driving revenues and profitable growth. He is reputed for his expertise in conventional & Islamic financial institutions in local and international venues (MENA, Europe, Asia, and USA). He has demonstrated the ability to identify and troubleshoot critical issues impacting productivity, cost, distribution, customer services, product development, marketing, sales, and financial operations.

Ayman was the Regional Head of AIG’s Takaful operations and Managing Director of AIG’s operations in Bahrain (New Hampshire Insurance Company and Chartis Takaful Enaya) In that role, Ayman took the lead in developing the Takaful strategy and business model for the MENA Region as well as managing the AIG operations in Bahrain. He held an advisory and assistance role for the AIG Asia Pacific region to develop the Takaful strategy in Malaysia.

Under Ayman’s leadership, AIG has opened two Takaful windows in the UK and USA (the first-ever Takaful operation to be available in all 50 states).

Prior to rejoining AIG, Ayman was the Chief Executive Officer of Dar Al Takaful Dubai, UAE.

Before leading AIG and Dar Al Takaful, Ayman was directly in charge of personal lines claims in the UAE for over 5 years with Norwich Union; now AXA Gulf in Dubai. Ayman managed the portfolio of motor recovery, bodily injury, fraud and litigation claims. After Norwich Union, he moved to establish the Dubai Islamic Insurance & Reinsurance and to head the personal lines underwriting and claims departments.
